Biography - Dževerdanović-Pejović Milena

 

I was born in Kotor where I completed Elementary and High School. 

In 2003 I graduated from the Faculty of Philology in Nikšić at the Department of English Language and Literature. Five years later,  I defended Master thesis in Belgrade at the Faculty of Philology named "The Structure of Discourse  in Maritime Reports". 

I earned PhD degree at the Faculty of Philology in Belgrade in 2012 defending the thesis  "The Types of Discourses and Genre Features in Maritime Communication". I earned an academic degree of teaching assistant for Maritime English  Language at the Univeristy of Montenegro in September 2013.

In december 2018 I was promoted to Associate Professor for the field ESP, more precisely of Maritime English. 

I have worked at the Maritime Faculty Kotor since June 2004 at the English Language Department and since that time I have been involved in teaching the following subjects: English Language I and English Language II – Maritime Correspondence at the Management Department Department, and English Language I, II and III at the Nautical Department. Also, teach general and professional English at the departments of Marine Engineering and Marine Electrical Engineering. 

My scope of interest and academic research is language of maritime discourse community, discourse and genre analysis, gender and language in modern seafaring, intercultural communication. 

I was a Vice Dean for Education at the Maritime Faculty Kotor from 2017 to October 2023.

 

In December 2023, I was  promoted to Full professor for Maritime English.
