Biography - Šekularac-Ivošević Senka

Dr Senka Šekularac-Ivošević was born on 19th February 1979 in Bijelo Polje. She was attending primary and secondary school  in Berane, where she finished Gymnasium "Panto Mališić" - department for natural sciences and mathematics in 1997. She was awarded with diploma "Luča" and promoted as "the best student of the generation".

She graduated from the Faculty of Economics in Podgorica, University of Montenegro in 2001 with an average score of 9.44. She earned academic title master of sciences in 2008 at the Faculty of Economics,  University of Belgrade  defending the masters thesis titled "Marketing aspects of a seaports - with special reference to the Port of Bar" and thus earned the academic title - Master of Economics  in 2008.  She defended doctoral dissertation titled "Strategic effects of market positioning to the competitiveness of a seaports" at the Faculty of Economics of the University "Džemal Bijedic" in Mostar in 2015 and earned an academic title - doctor of economic sciences. 

She has been working at the University of Montenegro with the status of teaching assistant at the Maritime Faculty Kotor since 2003. She was elected to the position of assistant professor of the University of Montenegro for the field Maritime Marketing in december 2017. She was elected to the position of associate professor in february 2023. Specific areas of research are marketing strategy, digital marketing, maritime market research and maritime crew resource management. 

She is an author and co-author of scientific, professional and conference papers, and has experience implementing international projects and creating sectoral studies for the maritime industry. In 2006 she completed professional training in the seaport strategic management in Japan. As a participant in the international staff mobility program, she has been teaching and trained at higher education institutions in Greece, Romania, Croatia, Lithuania, Latvia, Hungary, Germany, and Norway.

She participates in the implementation of programme for training seaferers in domain of human resources management on the bridge and ship engine complex and she is a coordinator of training for management and team work on board ship. Since 2018 she has been performing activities of coordinator for international cooperation at the Faculty of Maritime Studies Kotor. She was appointed vice dean for international cooperation in 2023.
