Doc.dr Nevena Mašanović

Nevena Mašanović was born in 1987 in Podgorica. She completed her primary education at the "Sutjeska" Primary School (1994-2002), after which she enrolled in the "Slobodan Škerović" Gymnasium in Podgorica, natural-mathematical track (2002-2006). She began studying at the Faculty of Architecture in Podgorica in 2006. She completed her undergraduate studies in 2010 with a thesis titled "Urban planning solution for the central segment of the city of Danilovgrad" under the mentorship of Prof. dr Svetislav G. Popović and co-mentorship of Prof. dr Nenad Lipovac. ​She enrolled in the Masters program in 2011 at the Faculty of Architecture in Podgorica, specializing in Urban Planning and Spatial Organization, and completed it by defending the thesis titled "Historic and Urbanistic Conditions for the Formation of Orja Luka in Bjelopavlić plain" under the mentorship of prof. dr Svetislav G. Popović. She completed her doctoral thesis in 2022 at the University of Zagreb, Department of Architecture and Urban Planning, with the topic "Rural Settlements of Continental Montenegro - Criteria for Preservation and Protection of Their Spatial Values," under the mentorship of prof. dr Nenad Lipovac. In May 2024, she was elected as an assistant professor for the following subjects: Urban Planning, Construction Organization and Technology, Integrated Urban Planning Project and Masters Thesis.

Her first professional experience was gained at the architectural office Art Group in Warsaw, Poland (2008). She began her internship at the Republic Institute for Urbanism and Design as a design/planning associate (2010-2013). She continued her professional engagement at the Faculty of Architecture in Podgorica, as a teaching assistant in urban planning and design subjects (2014-2024). She has received the following scholarships: Ministry of Education and Science of Montenegro for talented students (2006); international organization IAESTE-Poland for work and professional development at the architectural office Art Group, Warsaw, Poland (2008); Ministry of Science and Education of the Republic of Croatia (Zagreb) for work on the final thesis (2010); Ministry of Higher Education of Slovenia (Ljubljana) to improve knowledge in urbanism through a masters program with prof. dr Peter Gabrijelčič, University of Ljubljana (2011). She holds a license for the performance of technical documentation and construction activities and she is a member of the Engineering Chamber of Montenegro.
