Biography

Anđela Mijanović was born in Nikšić on September 17, 1994. She completed her elementary and high school education in her hometown.

She graduated from the Faculty of  Sciences and Mathematics in Podgorica with a degree in Mathematics and Computer Science in 2016. That same year, she enrolled in specialized studies in the same field, and in July 2017, she defended her thesis titled "The Maximum of the Wiener Process and the Arc Sine Law" under the mentorship of Prof. Dr Siniša Stamatović. During her studies, she was a recipient of scholarships awarded by the Government of Montenegro for talented students and similar scholarships from the Municipality of Nikšić.

Her masters thesis titled "Analysis of Athletic Records Using the Theory of Extreme Values" was defended in December 2018, under the mentorship of Prof. Dr Siniša Stamatović.

In October 2019, she began her doctoral studies at the Faculty of Sciences and Mathematics in the field of Mathematics. She defended her doctoral dissertation titled "Multidimensional Logistic Distribution Specified by Its Characteristic Function – Contribution to Theory and Practice" on June 10, 2023, under the mentorship of Prof. Dr Božidar Popović.

She speaks English, Russian, and Italian.

Her scientific interests include: mathematical statistics, probability theory and stochastic processes.

Since October 2018, she has been employed as a teaching assistant at the Faculty of  Sciences and Mathematics, University of Montenegro. She conducts exercises in the following subjects: Probability Theory, Probability and Statistics, Statistics, Stochastic Processes, Markov Chains, Mathematics 1, Statistics in Pedagogy, Statistical Analysis, Fundamentals of Statistics, Statistics in Sociology, Quantitative Statistical Methods (the last five subjects at the Faculty of Philosophy), and Statistics in Pharmacy at the Faculty of Medicine.
