Biography

"Asst. Prof. Boško Matović, PHd, MSc in Transportation Engineering, was born on January 3, 1988, in Foča, Bosnia and Herzegovina. In Foča, he attended and successfully completed elementary school "Veselin Masleša" with excellent marks. In 2002, he enrolled in the grammar school at the Secondary School Center in Foča, which he completed in 2006.

In 2006, he started his undergraduate studies at the Faculty of Technical Sciences, University of Novi Sad, in the Traffic and Transport Engineering study program, which lasted four years. He passed his exams with an average grade of 8.90. He earned the title of Bachelor in Transportation Engineering on October 5, 2010, defending his thesis titled "Databases in Traffic Safety".

In 2010, he enrolled in the masters academic studies at the Faculty of Technical Sciences, University of Novi Sad, in the Traffic and Transport Engineering study program, specializing in Traffic Safety, which lasted one year. He passed his exams with an average grade of 9.43. He earned the title of Master of Transportation Engineering on September 15, 2011, defending his master’s thesis titled "Integration of Databases in Traffic Safety". He was declared the best student in the promotion of traffic students in November 2011.

In 2013, he started his doctoral academic studies at the Faculty of Technical Sciences, University of Novi Sad, in the Traffic Engineering study program, which lasted three years. He passed his exams with an average grade of 9.43. He earned the title of Doctor of Science – Traffic Engineering on March 22, 2019, defending his doctoral dissertation titled "Influence of subjective factors on drivers’ speeding bahavior", under the mentorship of Prof. Dr. Dragan Jovanović. As a result of his dissertation, three papers were published in journals from the SCI list in the field of Traffic Safety.

In the past period, he was engaged as a teaching associate and assistant at the Faculty of Technical Sciences, University of Novi Sad. He conducted auditory exercises in the Department of Traffic Planning, Regulation, and Safety on courses: Traffic Regulations, Road Safety, Traffic Accident Prevention, Traffic Safety Measures, and Traffic Infrastructure and Safety in Urban Areas.

His research areas include the behavior of traffic participants from the aspect of traffic safety, management of road infrastructure safety, databases in traffic safety, geographic information systems in traffic, as well as traffic modeling and planning. He has published the results of his research as author or co-author in 50 scientific papers, nine of which were published in journals from the SCI list.

He is a member of the program committee of international conferences such as Road Accidents Prevention, New Horizons in Traffic and Communication, and Road Safety in the Local Community. He has participated in several national and international projects in the fields of traffic safety, sustainable transport, urban mobility, and the transport of dangerous goods.

He speaks, reads, and writes English. He is married and the father of three children.
