Agreement on cooperation between umbrella student bodies of Montenegro and Serbia SPUM and SCSU signed

Representatives of the Student Parliament of the University of Montenegro in the building of the Rectorate of the University of Belgrade signed an agreement on cooperation between the two umbrella and legally recognized student bodies of the two countries.

The leadership of the Student Parliament of the University of Montenegro, consisting of President Saša Roćen, SPUM Commissioner Aleksandar Šipčić, SPUM Secretary General Andrej Vukčević and SPUM member Stefan Mikić, expressed gratitude and defined joint cooperation with colleagues from Serbia. The president of SKONUS, colleague Margareta Smiljanić, pointed out that the signing of the agreement is important for cooperation and support on joint projects and activities, as well as the fight for the rights and position of students in the two countries.

The cooperation agreement implies joint efforts to improve the position of young people and students, exchange of experiences, knowledge and skills, organization and work on joint programs, trainings and projects, as well as disposal of resources in accordance with the possibilities of both parties.

After the official part of the signing of the agreement, the structure, manner of functioning and organization of work of representative student organizations were discussed. Information was exchanged on the current situation in higher education in the two countries and the position of students in the two countries. The conditions of studying at the faculties, the professional practice of the students, the employment of the students during and after the studies, the entrance exams when enrolling the students at the faculties and the exam deadlines were the topics of today's meeting. They also discussed the representation of students in the bodies of the University and their position in the fight for student rights.

Since the Law on Higher Education is currently being amended, experiences have been exchanged regarding the legal framework governing the field of higher education.

After signing the agreement, a meeting was held with representatives of the University of Belgrade.
