Strengthening Cyber Security through University Education

The University of Montenegro is open to support the development of cyber security capacities and the fight against high-tech crime, within the regional project related to cyber security. This was said by the rector of UCG Prof. Dr. Vladimir Božović at a meeting with Cedric Grousset, advisor for this Cyber ​​Balkan project of the French Center for Security Expertise in Southeast Europe, initiated by the French Ministry of Foreign Affairs. 

Grousset pointed out that the synergy of all stakeholders and the identification of the needs of the police, judiciary, prosecutor's office, and consideration of potential partners in education is necessary. Education in this field should provide answers to numerous problems, shortcomings and continuously strengthen human potential in response to cybercrime. 

Rector Božović me with the Vice-Rector for Internationalization, Prof. Dr. Sanja Pekovic proposed to Mr. Grousset, the creation of a lifelong learning program as one of the support options. - The advantage of this program would be the fact that in such a demanding and complex area as cyber security we would engage professionals from practice, who could transfer practical knowledge and the knowledge that will correspond to real trends in this area, said Rector Bozovic. Vice

Rector Peković pointed out that, given that the secure cyberspace of Montenegro has become one of the national priorities, the University of Montenegro has initiated the development of a master's program in this area. During the meeting, which was also attended by the head of the Rector's office, Diana Jovanovic, readiness was expressed for further cooperation, exchange of information and for establishing connections with professors of the University of Montenegro who can provide important guidelines in this area.
