Call for regional project published by the Western Balkans Fund

The Western Balkans Fund (WBF) published 5th Call for Proposals for regional projects, under the grant scheme “Support to the promotion of civil society regional actions in the Western Balkans”, co-funded by the EU through IPA programme.

The overall objective of the Call is to promote participation of civil society and grassroots organisations, from the Western Balkans (WB), in regional cooperation projects on social, cultural, scientific, and economic topics, including gender equality and disability inclusiveness.

The thematic areas of this Call are the following:

  • cultural cooperation
  • education and scientific exchange
  • sustainable development

 

The Call is open until 8th of July 2022, at 16:00 CET. Contracts with selected applicants are expected to be signed in November 2022. The initial planned duration of a project may not be lower than 3 months nor exceed 10 months, including reporting period (final report must be delivered in 30 calendar days within the above mentioned timeframe).

The overall indicative amount available under this Call is 500.000,00 EUR. Grant amount requested must not exceed 15.000,00 EUR and it can be up to 80% of the total eligible costs of the project. Staff costs must not exceed 30% of awarded grant amount. Purchase of goods/equipment is not eligible, while rental or leasing costs for equipment (new or used) are eligible. Activities aimed at profit making are not eligible. Indirect costs may be eligible for flat rate funding, but the total must not exceed 7 % of the estimated total eligible direct costs.

Participating institutions must be non-profit. Partnership must include at least 3 organisations, all from different WB countries. The lead applicant is encouraged to have as many partners within the region and beyond, that could contribute to the accomplishment to the grant scheme’s overall objective.

One institution can receive grant funds as a lead applicant in not more than 1 project under this Call. If the institution submits more than 1 application, the application which gets the highest score will remain in the competition for receiving grant funds. The lead applicant of the selected project may be a partner in only one other project under this Call. The institutions that is not a leader may be a partner in more than 1 project under this Call. Universities can apply on the level of faculties, i.e. grant can be awarded to several organisational units of the University of Montenegro as lead applicants (one per organisational unit).
