Senate UMNE Unanimously Supported Development Program of the University of Montenegro by Danilo Nikolic, PhD
At the session held today, the Senate of the University of Montenegro stated an opinion unanimously supporting the Development Program of the University of Montenegro of election candidates, by the Rector for the term 2020-2023, Danilo Nikolić, PhD, Full Professor at the University of Montenegro and current Rector.
Opinion of the Senate on the Program of Rector candidates, in accordance with provisions of the Statute of the University of Montenegro, is submitted to the Election Commission for implementation of the rector election procedure of the University of Montenegro. The Election Commission submits the Opinion of the Senate to the Steering Committee of the University of Montenegro, that elects Rector.
"In my last term, focus was on the strategic-development aspect, scientific and international results, organizational resources and social interaction of the University," Rector Nikolić said in his introductory speech, emphasizing positive results achieved in these areas.
His work program, he pointed out, will be based on continuous implementation of priorities and goals contained in the Development Strategy of the University of Montenegro 2019-2024.
"In the forthcoming period, the University of Montenegro will focus on: innovation, interdisciplinary and internationalization of study programs; modernization and digitalization of university infrastructure, scientific research excellence and project success; international cooperation and mobility; improving the personnel structure and organizational resources; improving knowledge, competencies and employability of our students, as well as promoting socially responsible behaviour, identity values and sustainable development of the Montenegrin economy and state," he explained.
Members of the Senate expressed a positive opinion on visible results achieved from the previous term of office of Rector Nikolić.
