University of Montenegro Strongly Supports Values of Civic Society, Democracy and Rule of Law

The University of Montenegro is central institution of Montenegrin education, science and culture, one of fundamental institutions of Montenegrin statehood and identity, which has a key role and responsibility to create and disseminate knowledge through excellence in education, science and art, to create successful and socially responsible academic citizens and promotes democratic and sustainable development of Montenegrin society and state.

As such an institution, the University of Montenegro inherits modern civilization values ​​of civil society such as democracy, rule of law and tolerance. In carrying out its mission, the University fully respects competencies and decisions of all state institutions, advocating especially respect for the law, rule of law and equality for all with respect for the democratically expressed will of the majority, not interfering in political decisions, not commenting on individual views and condemning any threat and work institution.

Therefore, we believe that members of the academic community should contribute to development and democratization of Montenegrin society exclusively through excellence in scientific research and cultural and artistic creation, and constant investment in knowledge, progress and modernization of the teaching process.

In the light of this, the University of Montenegro will continue to fulfill its mission without allowing personal views of individuals to be equated with views of the academic community.
