The EU launches the biggest European Innovation Initiative

The European Innovation Council ions (EIC) – the key news of the EU Framework Programme for Research and Innovation Horizon Europe 2021-2027 will be officially launched at the ceremony organized by the European Commission 18-13 March 2021. 

The European Innovation Council is the most ambitious innovation initiative launched by Europe with a budget of 10 billion euros for 7 years. The mission of the EIC is to identify, develop and scale up new technologies and disruptive innovations. The EIC will support start-up companies, MSP, and research teams who are developing innovations of high risk but with potentially great impact. The focus is set on scaling innovations that bring paradigm changes and solutions for the objectives of the Green Agreement and the EU Recovery Plan.

The first calls for the project will be open from the 18th of March. During the EU Science & Innovation Event transferred through the YouTube channel, participants can learn about possibilities for financing, while 19th March is planned for information sessions for applicants. 

Having in mind that Montenegro will join the Horizon Europe Programme, participants from Montenegro shall have the same rights as the participants from the EU member states.
