I am a master student at the Faculty of Mechanical Engineering, majoring in road traffic, and I started the adventure called Iceland in March 2023. Since first half of my stay is coming to an end, I may certainly say that I am already quite full of impressions that change intensity and form from one moment to another, making craving for more.

Occasion of the very stay in Iceland is Erasmus+ traineeship program, in my case concerning the research conducted in Reykjavik  University, from the domain of influence PM occurred by working of cars on human health.

Since this is not the first time for using Erasmus+ scholarships, I was aware before the very leave that all goals had to be clearly defined, and research plan developed in details, so the very stay is efficient and useful.

Judging by the abovementioned, I would praise myself without being modest that I am satisfied with the work done and I am looking forward to upcoming results.

Nevertheless, as no adventure starts in our comfort zone, I am of the particular opinion that differences in everything we basically are and everything that is where we are, create beauty and uniqueness of being in cultural and ethnic extremes. Being highlander among Vikings is not a challenge, but being a Mediterranean at the foot of the Arctic Ocean is an adventure in itself.

Accepting life on the island, getting used to progressive long days, all the seasons in one day and the nonchalance of living are a step further compared to my previous experiences. Hours of waiting and searching for the Aurora Borealis caused vigilance with wide-closed eyes at night.

Ruthless beauty and harsh uniqueness of nature simultaneously create distance but also the need to merge with every contour of its landscape diversity.

At the foot of the volcano, on the scents of geysers and roaring waterfalls rests the culture and tradition of this apparently cold nation, but with a warm smile and broad chest, which selflessly offers the fruits of its work and sacrifice acquired over the centuries under the merciless sky of its habitat.

Primarily, my stay in the land of fire and ice is a clear academic goal, but at the same time it can also give a significant idea of life and the fulfillment of some long-dreamed of dreams.

As at every end of story, I would like to send special appreciation to the Office for International Cooperation, which gives this kind of experiences to students from Montenegro, as well as to the supervisor of the Universitys Erasmus+ traineeship, David C. Finger, who selflessly shares his knowledge and resources, so that this adventure would leave a strong print in our memories.
