The final competition "Im telling you a story" on the topic "China and I" was held on Friday, December 22, 2023. in the premises of the Confucius Institute at the University of Montenegro in Podgorica.
A five-member committee, which consisted of Chinese language professors from the Confucius Institute, made a preliminary selection of the materials received for the award competition and invited the 10 best to the final competition. At the very end, the selected contestants presented their Chinese speaking skills by telling a short story (up to 5 minutes) about themselves and their experience with the Chinese language and culture.


The competition was held in three categories for:
1. Elementary school students
2. Secondary school students
3. Students and other interested parties


In the final, the best were decided by a three-member jury composed of:
1. Prof. Gao Qinglong - Chinese director of the Confucius Institute at UCG;
2. Prof. Lai Peiyu – Chinese language teacher from the Confucius classroom at UDG;
3. Prof. Shi Xinwei – Chinese language teacher from the Confucius classroom at UDG.


After the outstanding presentations of our competitors, the jury did not have an easy task. In an exceptional mood and pre-holiday atmosphere, the best in all categories were announced. The directors of the Confucius Institute, Milena Lipovina-Božović and Gao Qinglong, presented valuable prizes to the three first-placed participants in all categories, as well as to the other competitors.
The Confucius Institute, in cooperation with the Embassy of the Peoples Republic of China, provided valuable prizes for the best: Xiami tablets, smart watches, headphones and smart boards.

Awards, by category, were given to:

I category:
1. Alisa Bogdanović – 98 points
2. Dajana Dušević – 94 points
3. Jovana Vojinović – 91.3 points


II category:
1. Teodora Tomović – 95.3 points

III category:
1. Sara Peričić – 95.3 points
2. Denis Seleznev – 92.6 points


The Confucius Institute at the University of Montenegro thanks the competitors and their mentors for their participation. We are happy to encourage your creativity and desire to learn the Chinese language by organizing such competitions and similar events. We will continue to do that in the coming year, promoting the Chinese language and culture and building common bridges of cooperation and connection between Montenegro and China.
