Biography




Biography

Dejan Jančić was born in Bar, Montenegro. He finished elementary and high school in Ulcinj.

On the Faculty of Science at the University of Kragujevac (Serbia) he graduated as a chemist for research and development. At the same faculty he received a masters degree in Chemistry (master thesis titled "Mechanism of substitution reactions of the Pd (II) complex with thiols"). He received his doctorate entitled "Tradition of using in diet, chemical and nutritive characteristics of wild and cultivated leaves of chicory (Cichorium intybus L. Asteraceae)" at the University in Belgrade - Faculty of Pharmacy, Department of Bromatology.

After graduation, he completed a prentice training at the Institute of Public Health in Podgorica and passed the professional exam for the healthcare - the area of Sanitary Chemistry. As a sanitary chemist in the same institution, he was employed until 2006.

Since 2006 he has been employed at the Center for Ecotoxicological Research in Podgorica, first as head of the laboratory, then as deputy of Laboratory manager and advisor of Laboratory manager for Sanitary Chemistry.

He participates in teaching at the Faculty of Medicine of the University of Montenegro - study program Pharmacy and Faculty of Food Technology, Food Safety and Ecology of the University of Donja Gorica in Podgorica.

He is the chairman of the Technical Committee TK010 - Environment and Environmental Management Systems of the Institute for Standardization of Montenegro.

Also, he is the secretary of the Montenegrin Food and Nutrition Society.

He is the author and co-author of five papers published in international journals (SCI/SCIE list), two papers in international journals that are not in the databases and have regular international distribution, as well as sixteen press releases at international conferences.
