Biography - Gvozdenović Vasilije

Vasilije Gvozdenović (1971) studied psychology in 1992 at the Department of Psychology, University of Belgrade, Serbia where he graduated in 1998 on the theme of visual perception. During his studies he worked as a demonstrator in the field of General Psychology and began his research in the Laboratory of Experimental Psychology, University of Belgrade. During 1999 and 2000, he has taught psychology at the music school "Stanković" and XII Belgrade High School. In June 2001, he was employed at the Department of Psychology as an assistant professor of General Psychology I. Postgraduate studies at the Department of General Psychology ends by finnishing his master thesis in 2002. In June of 2004 Gvozdenovic defended his doctoral thesis and in the same year he was promoted to assistant professor. Classes in the Department of Psychology performed on cases, cognitive psychology, motivation and emotion (basic study) Experimental Methods and Techniques Cognition 2 (PhD studies). Since 2011, Gvozdenović was promoted to associate professor. In 2012, he became a Dean of Finance Faculty of Philosophy in Belgrade. In 2014, together with colleagues from the Department established the Laboratory for Neurocognition and Applied cognition at the Faculty of Philosophy in Belgrade. During 2016 he was promoted to full professor for the scientific field of General Psychology.

Gvozdenović's scientific interests are in the broader field of visual perception, cognitive psychology and methodology of psychological research. The topics of his interests are the problems of perception of objects, visual attention, perception of illusory contours and the judgement and decision-making. In the framework of the projects of the Ministry of Science of the Republic of Serbia has published numerous scientific papers and participated in many conferences in the country and abroad. In addition to authoring a monograph, Gvozdenović has published Proceedings dedicated to the problems of mental representations, as well as a textbook in experimental psychology.
