Biography - Bulatović Ranislav

Ranislav Bulatović was born on March 23, 1956 in Bijeljina, Bosnia and Hercegovina. He completed general high school in Titograd (Podgorica), and graduated from the Faculty of Mechanical Engineering, University of Montenegro in 1978. He continued his education in the Department of Mechanics of the Faculty of Natural Sciences and Mathematics in Belgrade, where he defended both his M.Sc. thesis in 1981 and the Ph.D. thesis in 1984. In the meantime, (during 1982-83) he served a year in the Army.

    He had got his further scientific education from the Department for Theoretical Mechanics at the Faculty of Mechanics and Mathematics of University Lomonosov in Moscow (1981-1982) which he visited afterwards for a few times (1986, 1988, 1995).

    From his graduation in 1978 he has been working at the University of Montenegro, at the Mechanical Engineering Faculty. He was elected assistant professor in 1984, associate professor in 1989, and since 1994 he has been a full professor.

    He had been elected for the corresponding member of the Montenegrin Academy of Science and Arts in 1993, and from 2000 hi is a full member. Bulatovic is also a member of the European Society of Mechanics (EUROMECH), Society of Applied Mathematics and Mechanics (GAMM), Serbian Society of Mechanics (SSM) and Academy of Nonlinear Sciences in Moscow.

     His research interests are in the areas of Mechanics: Analytical dynamics, Stability of motion and Vibration theory.

     Honors and awards: The student award „19. December“ (1975), The Plaque of the University of „Veljko Vlahovic“ as the best graduated student in 1978, „ Dr Rastko Stojanovic“ award from the Yugoslav Society of Mechanics (1984), The state award of the Republic of Montenegro, „13. July“, for the scientific achievements (1990), The Charter of the University of Montenegro (1994).
