Biography

Born in 1964 in Nikšić, where he completed elementary and high school. He graduated from the Faculty of Education in Nikšić, majoring in History and Geography, at the Faculty of Geography of the University of Belgrade, he earned a masters degree in cartography, and at the Department of Geography, University of Novi Sad, he defended his doctoral dissertation, earning the scientific degree of Doctor of Geographical Sciences.

As a student, he published his first paper at the congress of the Union of Speleologists of Yugoslavia (Sarajevo, 1987). Since 1991,  he has been employed at the Faculty of Philosophy, as an assistant-trainee, teaching assistant, associate and teacher at the Department of History and Geography, and then at the Study Program for Geography in the subjects: Astronomical Geography, Cartography, General Cartography, Thematic Cartography and Mathematical geography. So far, he has published more than one hundred and fifty scientific and professional works.

Membership in bodies and organizations: Regular member of the Dukljan Academy of Sciences and Arts since 2023, General Secretary of DANU since 2022, Member of the Committee for Geology and Geography of the Montenegrin Academy of Sciences and Arts since 1996, and President of the Committee since 2023, Secretary of the Speleological Society of Montenegro, 1984-1990. year, President of the Union of Speleological Organizations of Yugoslavia, 1995-2003. Member of Matica Montenegrin since 1995, President of "Speleological Society Nikšić" from 2002-2022. President of the Board of Directors of the Association of Speleological Societies of Montenegro, from 2006-2022. Professional associate and consultant: National geographic junior, since 2005, NGO Civic Forum, coordinator for the field of environmental protection, RTVCG - expert associate in the educational program, member of the Croatian Cartographic Society, since 2012, member of the Board of the Mountaineering Association of Montenegro, member of the Council of the Natural History Museum of Montenegro (2016-2020), member of the UCG Senate, (2016-2022) member of several commissions and working groups in the Ministry of Sustainable Development and Tourism, member of the National Council for Education (2015), associate of the Environmental Protection Agency, SO Nikšić, Vice Dean for Teaching of the Faculty of Philosophy in Nikšić in the period 2012-2014. year, Dean of the Faculty of Philosophy in Nikšić from 2014 to 2020.
