Biography - Žugić Ljiljana

Ljiljana Žugić was born in Pljevlja, Montenegro where she finished elementary and high school. After graduating from high school she enrolled at the Faculty of Civil Engineering in Podgorica, University of Montenegro. In 1991 she successfully completed her studies at the Department of Structures.

From 1991 she attended Postgraduate studies at the Faculty if Civil Engineering University of Belgrade, Department of Technical Mechanics and Theory of Structures. Master's thesis titled "Analysis of possible pounding non-symmetric buildings due to an earthquake”, under the supervision of Prof. Dr Stanko Brčić, professor at the Faculty of Civil Engineering in Belgrade, was successfully defended in May 1997.

PhD thesis entitled "Nonlinear analysis of the cable-stayed bridges", mentored by Prof. Dr Stanko Brčić, professor at the Faculty of Civil Engineering University of Belgrade, was successfully defended in May 2009, at the Department of Technical Mechanics and Theory of structures – Faculty of Civil Engineering University of Belgrade, after which she gained the degree of Doctor of Technical Sciences.

Since 1993, she was employed at the Faculty of Civil Engineering, University of Montenegro as a teaching assistant, and then, from 1997, as an assistant lecturer for several courses in domain of Technical Mechanics and Theory of Structures (Statics of Structures I, Statics of Structures II, Theory of Plates and Shells and Stability and Dynamics of Structures).

In 2011 she was elected to the academic title of Assistant Professor at the courses Stability and Dynamics of Structures (Specialist Degree Programme – Constructions), Theory of Structures (Applied Study Programme Management in Civil Engineering), Application of Computer (Applied Study Programme Management in Civil Engineering) and Statics of Structures (Architecture).

In December 2016 she obtained an academic title of Associate Professor – domain Technical Mechanics and Theory of Structures.
