Biography

Ana Perošević-Bajčeta was born in 1988 in Nikšić, Montenegro, where she finished elementary and high school. She graduated in 2011 at the Faculty of Metallurgy and Technology, University of Montenegro, Department of Chemical Technology. During her studies, she won several awards for the best student of the Faculty of Metallurgy and Technology.

She completed her masters studies in Chemical Engineering at the Faculty of Technology and Metallurgy, University of Belgrade, in 2014, at the Department of Analytical Chemistry and Quality Control. She defended her doctoral dissertation entitled "Trace elements in Mediterranean mussels from the aspect of human health and the impact of physical and chemical parameters of the marine environment" in 2020, also at the Faculty of Technology and Metallurgy, University of Belgrade.

After graduating from the faculty, Ana Perošević-Bajčeta worked briefly as a teacher of chemistry and physics in primary school, after which she did an internship at the Institute of Ferrous Metallurgy in Nikšić, in the Laboratory for Chemical Analysis, from June 2012 to June 2013. In the period from 2015 to 2019, she was engaged as a PhD student researcher at the first center of excellence in Montenegro (Center of Excellence in Bioinformatics, BIO-ICT), at the Institute of Marine Biology, University of Montenegro. Since November 2019, she has been employed in the Laboratory of Marine Chemistry and Oceanography, Institute of Marine Biology, as a research assistant. In September 2022 she was elected to the position of Research associate. The field of research refers primarily to geochemistry and bioaccumulation of metals.

As a researcher at the Institute of Marine Biology, she has been engaged in several international and bilateral scientific research projects, and has participated in numerous international and national trainings and courses. He is the author and co-author of over 40 scientific papers, including scientific papers published in international and national scientific journals, chapters in monographs, presentations at conferences and symposia.
