The Erasmus + project supports the connection of the University of Montenegro with digital research centers

ImageThe importance of strengthening the link between higher education institutions and the economy has been recognized by the international Erasmus + project, the implementation of which has recently begun, and in which the University of Montenegro participates with higher education institutions from Germany, Greece, Hungary, Montenegro, Serbia and Slovenia, as well as local and regional business partners.

“Centers for digital research and universities have a key and leading role in the process of digitalization of industries, strengthening cooperation with national economies, "said the basic idea of ​​the project leader, the Vice-Rector of the University of Montenegro full prof. Irena Orović, PhD, project manager on behalf of the University.

“Higher education institutions can provide expertise and support to their local industries, helping them to work with innovators, investors and customers across Europe. At the same time, cooperation and networking are very important to ensure that best practices are implemented in other regions, that the missing expertise can be introduced, and thus ensure an effective system of innovation", said professor Orović.

In the project, "Strengthening the relationship between higher education institutions and the wider economic and social environment", supported through the Erasmus + joint projects program, with a grant worth 996, 200.00 €, Montenegro is the coordinator.

In addition to the University of Montenegro, the University of Donja Gorica from Montenegro, the University of Technology and Economics from Hungary, the University of Furtwangen from Germany and the National and Capoditrias University from Greece are also participating.

Montenegrin institutions include the Clinical Center, Simsic-MontMilk for Production, Transport and Services, Exports, the Ministry of Health, the Chamber of Economics of Montenegro and the Ministry of Agriculture, Forestry and Water Management, as well as Comtrade System Integration from Serbia and “Arctur racunalniski inzeniring “ from Slovenia.

The project will also support the provision of practical digital skills to students, technical training and skills development, internship programs, work on real projects and employment support, support and mentoring in developing business ideas, as well as access to funding opportunities, and expert support in assessment and identifying the potential of digitization and collaborative research.
