University of Montenegro Enrolls 3501 Freshmen on 64 Study Programs and 1995 Students on 72 New Master Programs
At today's session, the Steering Committee of the University of Montenegro, at the proposal of the Senate UMNE, adopted the Decision which envisages 3.501 vacancies for enrollment of students in the first year of undergraduate studies and 1.995 vacancies for enrollment in a two-year master studies, for the 2020/2021 academic year.
"The final decision on the number of students, in the procedure of giving consent for announcing the Competition for enrollment in undergraduate studies, will be made by the Government of Montenegro," Chairperson of the Steering Committee of the University of Montenegro, Dusko Bjelica, PhD, said.
According to him, the number for enrollment, according to proposals of the council of 19 faculties, for both undergraduate and master studies, is within last year's and aligned with the decision of the Ministry of Education which determines the maximum number of students for enrollment.
"When proposing, the Senate was guided by standards of teaching quality and justification from the aspect of employability and demand on the labor market in Montenegro in accordance with the analysis of the Employment Agency of Montenegro, as well as the expressed interest of candidates for enrollment," Chairperson Bjelica said.
Proposal of the number of students for enrollment in undergraduate studies in 2020/21 academic year at 19 faculties is as follows: Faculty of Architecture 60, Biotechnical 155, Economic 390, Electrical Engineering 330, Faculty of Dramatic Arts 35, Faculty of Fine Arts 40, Faculty of Political Science 140, Faculty of Sports and Physical Education 120, Faculty of Tourism and Hotel Management 180, Faculty of Philology 355, Faculty of Philosophy 305, Faculty of Civil Engineering 110, Faculty of Mechanical Engineering 200, Medical 200, The Faculty of Metallurgy and Technology 115, Academy of Music 36, Faculty of Maritime Studies Kotor 260, Faculty of Law 240 and Faculty of Science 230.
When it comes to proposing the number of students for master studies in 2020/21 year, at the faculties with master studies is as follows: Biotechnical 85, Economic 110, Electrical 300, Faculty of Dramatic Arts 32, Faculty of Fine Arts 27, Faculty of Political Sciences 140, Faculty of Sports and Physical Education 30, Faculty of Tourism and Hotel Management 150, Faculty of Philology 300, Faculty of Philosophy 165, Faculty of Civil Engineering 120, Faculty of Mechanical Engineering 160, Metallurgical and Technological 90, Academy of Music 36, Faculty of Maritime Studies Kotor 90, Faculty of Law 80 and Faculty of Science 80.
