Pharmacy Students Visit the University of Genoa

Pharmacy Students Visit the University of Genoa

Students of the Pharmacy study programme at the Faculty of Medicine, University of Montenegro, led by Assistant Professor Nemanja Turković, PhD, took part in a study visit to the University of Genoa as guests of the Department of Pharmacy, within the framework of the European university alliance Ulysseus.

During the visit, the students had the opportunity to attend a series of professional seminars delivered by professors from the Department of Pharmacy at the University of Genoa, as well as to visit laboratories where key aspects of quality control of active pharmaceutical ingredients and finished medicinal products were presented through practical demonstrations. Through direct interaction with faculty members and researchers from the University of Genoa, the students gained deeper insight into European approaches and practices in pharmaceutical quality assurance, broadening their understanding of the regulatory framework and requirements governing the development, production, and quality control of pharmaceutical products. The particular value of this activity lay in the opportunity for students to connect the theoretical knowledge acquired during their studies with real-life examples from professional practice and research.

A special part of the programme was dedicated to discussions on opportunities for further strengthening cooperation between the universities within the Ulysseus alliance.

In addition to the academic activities, the students had the opportunity to explore Genoa, its cultural and historical heritage, and to gain valuable experience in an international environment through social interaction and collaborative work.

The team of undergraduate students, consisting of Nevena Živković, Milica Krstajić, Katarina Krivokapić, Amila Bambur, Ivona Ašanin, Erna Balijagić, Ksenija Arsović, Selma Bektešević, Sara Vračar, and Damjan Ranitović, represented the University of Montenegro and the Faculty of Medicine in the best possible way.

The contacts established and the exchange of experiences between faculty members and students will contribute to the enhancement of teaching content and the further development of international cooperation between the University of Montenegro and the University of Genoa within the Ulysseus alliance.
