Biography - Petrović Boban

Boban Petrović (1978) was born in Surdulica, Serbia, where he finished elementary school and gymnasium. He graduated in 2005, on Department for Psychology on Faculty of Philosophy of Belgrade University. He finished master studies in 2008, and defended his doctoral thesis in 2016, on the same faculty, under the supervision of Prof Dr Goran Knezević.

His research interests are predominantly focused on the issues of individual differences in human behavior, especially personality and social attitudes, but also on the issues of social inclusion. He investigates the psychological determinants of amoral and antisocial behavior, but also the psychological basis of inter-group conflict and reconciliation. At the same time, he also deals with the methodology of psychological research and psychometrics.

Since March 2012, he has been working at the Institute for Criminological and Sociological Research in Belgrade, Serbia, on the project ''Crime in Serbia: phenomenology, risks and opportunities of social intervention'', as a research assistant. He is included in several national and international research projects, of which the most important are: ''Relationship between personality and schizotypy – meta-analysis'' (2011-), ''Cross-cultural thinking enjoyment''     (2015-), ''Many Labs 2: Investigating Variation in Replicability Across Sample and Setting'' (2014-), ''Many Labs 5: Can conducting formal peer review in advance improve reproducibility?'' (2016-), '' The pipeline project 2: Pre-publication independent replications of a single laboratory's research pipeline'' (2016-), ''Kammus Validity Investigation Across different Regions (KAVIAR)''      (2016-), ''Narcissism(s) and self-esteem(s) in cross-cultural context'' (2016-), as well as COST actions ISCH IS1106 - ''Offender supervision in Europe'' i ISCH 1107 - ''European Network of Conflict research''.

For more than fifteen years, he has been active in the NGO sector, dealing primarily with issues of social inclusion and development of social support services for people with disabilities and other socially excluded groups.

From 2009 to 2011, he worked as teaching assistant in the scientific field ''Research and measurement in psychology'', at the Faculty of Applied Psychology, Belgrade.

From 2016, he was external associate of Laboratory for research of individual differences (Lira), scientific unit within the Faculty of Philosophy, University of Belgrade.

In the same year, he was engaged as a university teacher of psychometrics and cognitive assessment at the Faculty of Philosophy, University of Montenegro.

He is a member of Association for Psychological Science and International Society of Political Psychology.

            He published 15 papers in international journals, and 11 articles in the national journals; he also published 6 papers in proceedings and monographs. He has over 60 papers presented on international and national scientific meetings.
