Biography - Zejak Radomir

Dr Radomir ZEJAK, PhD, Full professor, born on 11th January 1962 in Barice. His father’s name is Miloš and mother’s name is Granica, maiden name Nišavić. He finished high school in Bijelo Polje in 1981 and then spent a year in the Army. He graduated from the Faculty of Civil Engineering of University ’Veljko Vlahović’ in Titograd 1987. He obtained a master degree in 1993 at the Department of Concrete Structures at the Faculty of Civil Engineering in Belgrade. He obtained his PhD degree in 2003 at the Faculty of Civil Engineering in Belgrade in the field of concrete structures.

Since 1988 until 2003 he worked as an assistant and since 2003 has worked as a professor at the Faculty of Civil Engineering and Architecture, University of Montenegro in Podgorica. He became Assistant professor in 2003, Associate professor in 2008, and Full professor in 2014. Since 2004 until 2010 he was vice Dean for Academic Affairs at the Faculty of Civil Engineering in Podgorica.

In addition to teaching the course of Construction materials and Concrete technology, on the basic, postgraduate and PhD studies at the Faculty of Civil Engineering and Architecture in Podgorica, he participated in the work in graduate studies, in defense of master theses at the Faculty of Metallurgy and Technology, University of Montenegro in Podgorica. Besides working at the University of Montenegro in Podgorica, he held lectures, from 1997, for the course the Resistance of Materials at the Department of Construction of High business - technical school in Užice, Serbia. While working at the Faculty of Civil Engineering in Podgorica, he was engaged in the following activities: Member of Parliament (later the Senate) of the University of Montenegro in the period 1991 -1993, the head of the Labortory for testing of materials and structures, from December 2004, coordinator for implementation of European Credit Transfer System (ECTS) at the Faculty of Civil Engineering (2003-2004), local coordinator for international cooperation in the CEEPUS network for the period 2004-2009. During his professional career, he actively worked with numerous business organizations in Montenegro. He was a member of several scientific and organization committees of scientific conferences on Concrete technology and Construction materials and structures. He was a reviewer of several publications in the field of Construction materials, as well as reviewer of several scientific papers in national and international journals.

Professor Zejak is known and respected scholar in the country and abroad in the field of Construction materials and structures, especially in the field of Concrete technology and materials testing. As part of his scientific research he worked on numerous research projects, has more than 90 scientific studies published in national and international magazines and exhibited at numerous scientific conferences at home and abroad. He participated in and/or directed more than 100 professional works. Within the study visits or as a researcher on the projects he stayed in several foreign universities and institutes including: TU Wien, Institut fur Stahlbetonbau; La Sapienza, Roma; University of Architecture, Civil Engineering and Geodesy, Sofia, Tsinghua University, Beijing.

He received the recognition of the Yugoslav Association of Structural engineers (JDGK) for the best scientific achievement in the field of structural engineering, in 2003, for his PhD thesis ‘Contribution to the analysis of slender reinforced concrete elements with oblique bending’ in Federal Republic of Yugoslavia.

He is married, he has a wife Gordana and daughters Hristina and Simonida.
