During the period from October 27-30 in Zlatibor, the 9th Student Conference on Traffic Safety - SKOBS was held. The conference gathered a large number of students from the region, with the aim of spreading knowledge in the field of traffic safety.

An integral part of the conference was the CASE STUDY competition, where students from several countries in the region presented their papers and innovative solutions related to the aspect of sustainable development and traffic safety in urban areas.

Five faculties participated in the competition: Faculty of Technical Sciences from Novi Sad, Faculty of Transport and Traffic Engineering from Belgrade, Faculty of Transport and Traffic Sciences from Zagreb, Faculty of Transport from Doboj, and Faculty of Mechanical Engineering from Podgorica.

Our students Bojana Golubović, Filip Perović, and Bojan Kruščić presented a paper titled "Comparative Analysis of the Effects of Various Traffic Calming Measures Using the DATAFROMSKY Software" as part of this competition. The paper included research on the impact of certain traffic calming elements in the territory of Podgorica, for which data were obtained using a drone that provided aerial video footage, later processed in the DATAFROMSKY software package. A comparison was made of the effects of rubber elements and asphalt platforms on vehicle speed and deceleration values in the traffic flow. The research results, obtained from a sample of 700 vehicles, showed that average speed values for rubber traffic calming elements were about 3 km/h lower, indicating their better efficiency compared to asphalt platforms.

The conference organizers, in cooperation with the Signal Sombor company, provided a prize fund of 1000 euros for the competition winner. We proudly highlight that this prize was awarded to our students, who took first place and thus represented the Faculty of Mechanical Engineering in the best possible way.

The Dean of the Faculty of Mechanical Engineering, Prof. Dr. Radoje Vujadinović, organized a formal reception for the students and congratulated them on their achievement. Congratulations were also extended by the head of the Road Traffic study program, Doc. Dr. Boško Matović, and MSc Vladimir Ilić, who supported the students during the preparation of the paper and expressed great satisfaction with the results obtained.
