Initiator and organizer of the Symposium is first international doctoral program in English „Sustainable Development“, seated in the University of Montenegro.
One of initiators of this idea and chair of the Symposium and at the same time manager of doctoral program „Sustainable Development“, Radovan Stojanović, PhD, stated that for this symposium triggered a great interest and by strict criteria 25 are selected.
"During the three-day duration of the symposium, we will have the opportunity to look at the presentations of scientific works on the topic of sustainable development from the point of view of various sciences, natural, technical, social, humanistic, multidisciplinary." Also, we will talk about art as a function of the sustainability of nature, society and man," Stojanović said.
He pointed out that this program and the new generations that will emerge from it have the role of ambassadors of sustainable development, which is of crucial importance for a society and because it represents a sustainable system that should last through generations and influence the progress of society in all spheres.
Professor Stojanović pointed out, at the opening of this seminar, that it is an honor for the University and the state that they were the first in the region to launch this Symposium and thus join the community of advanced EU countries, in which such an event is one of the important links in the development of doctoral students and future researchers.
"Doctoral students from Montenegro and the diaspora received their own international event that will help develop their careers, as well as the visibility of the higher education system and doctoral education, led by the University of Montenegro, in the European and international area of higher education," Professor Stojanović said.
Tatjana Dlabač, PhD, on behalf of the host of this symposium, the Maritime Faculty of Kotor, thanked Professor Stojanović for taking place at the Maritime Faculty. "For all of this to be sustainable, which is the theme of our gathering, we must be connected, we must recognize and support the academic and above all human potential of our candidates and thus enable our nature, our environment, our community to survive and develop. We are aware that "The development of science requires cooperation and synergy between natural, technical and social disciplines, and that multidisciplinarity requires continuous monitoring of the results of science and changes in the international labor market," Dlabač said. DOC-ME 2022, as the abbreviated name of this event reads, provided a unique opportunity for doctoral students to present the propositions and results of their research in the presence of their colleagues, mentors, academics and scientists. In addition to UCG, the organizing consortium includes universities in Vienna, Zagreb, Maribor, Banska Bistrica, Donja Gorica, most of Albanian universities, relevant ministries of Albania and Montenegro, and industrial partners. The Symposium is open to all interested listeners until Friday, including the online mode, and the Program is available on the Symposium website https://doc-me.com/ We remind you that the "Sustainable Development" doctoral studies program was created as an outcome of the Erasmus+ program for capacity building in the field of higher education and the project Reform of doctoral studies in Montenegro and Albania, an example of good practice, under the acronym MARDS.
