Record Result of UMNE: As many as 14 Erasmus plus Capacity Building Projects in the Field of Higher Education

In the first call of the new cycle of Erasmus + capacity building projects in the field of higher education (CBHE) for 2021-2027, the University of Montenegro achieved unprecedented success, with as many as 14 approved projects, two of which as coordinating institutions.

As one of the most competitive and prestigious European programs aimed at modernizing higher education and strengthening partnerships between scientific institutions in the region, Erasmus + CBHE provides significant financial support to the most innovative projects and initiatives of higher education institutions in Erasmus program and partner countries.

Almost twice as many approved projects than in previous calls will enable the University of Montenegro to further strengthen administrative, infrastructural and educational capacities, strengthen cooperation with the economy, modernize and digitize processes and activities, and improve cooperation with the most prestigious scientific research institutions in Europe. Among more than 600 registered projects, the University of Montenegro was approved to coordinate projects on topic of including alumni communities of universities in the Western Balkans in the processes of modernization of study programs (project holder Rectorate of the University of Montenegro) and improvement of the curriculum for "climate-smart" urban development based on efficiency of green energy (project holder, Faculty of Civil Engineering). In addition to these, the University of Montenegro will participate as a partner in 12 more projects, within which different university units will have the opportunity to modernize and improve educational processes through the implementation of the most innovative practices and intensive international cooperation, namely: UMNE Rectorate, Faculty of Mechanical Engineering, Faculty of Medicine, Faculty of Electrical Engineering, Faculty of Civil Engineering, Faculty of Philosophy and Faculty of Architecture. Significant financial support from the European Commission, the quality and relevance of the proposed activities and intensive cooperation with leading universities in Europe guarantee that the contribution of these projects to the improvement of teaching and scientific processes and the international positioning of the University will be strategically important and far-reaching. In the coming weeks, through interviews with the holders of awarded projects at the University of Montenegro, we will present the goals, partners and activities that will be implemented within these projects, as well as their contribution to achieving the strategic goals of the University of Montenegro and strengthening the international competitiveness of our study programs and the academic community in general.
