Božović: We have made Great Efforts so that UMNE becomes Space of Freedom, Creative and Intellectual Drive
Within the University of Montenegro (UMNE) for the last year there are big infrastructure projects initiated, many amphitheaters renovated, study programs are founded, new units established, and courses of work are modernized, as emphasized by the Rector UMNE Vladimir Božović, PhD.
He, on ceremony for celebrating day of the UMNE, said that for the past year there have been great efforts invested so far UMNE becomes space of freedom, creative and intellectual drive.
“We modernized services for supporting teaching and research, we modernized courses of work. Said with modern vocabulary – we have been digitalized. Yet, we have not neglected nor fundamental, or traditional values which were foundation of this society – mutual respect and solidarity”, Božović said.
According to his words, the University has shown that life, demanding and competitive in its nature, ought to remain suitable for needs and capacities of a human, giving both security and joy.
„Today, the University of Montenegro is community of the equal where we nurture work, persistence, we celebrate scientific achievements and academic spirit, and especially we appreciate and underline exquisite results. That is exactly what we are doing today. “, Božović said.
He congratulated to doctors of philosophy UMEN and best students for their success and thanked them for representing the University by the best knowledge.
„That sward of light in your hands shatters the dark of ignorance and many delusions. We are more than exhilarated to assume the responsibility and support your scientific and education work, and your responsibility and obligation is to bring back the fruits of the work to arms of this society. For us and next generations“, Božović said.
18 doctors of philosophy have been promoted, and plaques for five best students have been awarded.
Tijana Mićović, who finalized doctoral studies on the Faculty of Medicine UMNE, as first one on doctoral studies in generation on study program Pharmacy, said that the doctoral thesis of her defense had been from the field Pharmacognosis.
„I conducted research in science and research centers of the region and world. I was in Rectorate in 2015, as winner of highest national plaque UMNE for best graduated student from the field of technical, science and mathematical and medical sciences and today as doctor of medical science, so my heart is full“, Mićović said.
Doctoral dissertation on the Faculty of Science and Mathematics UMNE from the field of Law on Conservation is defended by Nikola Konatar.
„Working on doctoral thesis was not easy, since engagement in any scientific paper requires much effort and investment, but if it is what you love, the effort pays off“, Konatar stated.
Tanja Bakić, who defended doctoral dissertation from the field of English Language and Literature on the Faculty of Philology UMNE, said that working on doctoral thesis was demanding.
„Since it is about humanistic sciences, procedure and research are intangible and we work on abstract terms making more difficult for us to develop science paper in a way. I may say with pleasure that my science path lasted for four years, I researched a bit William Blake, English painter and poet. I have developed multidisciplinary dissertation, since I united elements of fine arts and literal“, Bakić stated.
Into doctors of philosophy were also promoted as follows: Neda Bošković, Jovana Davidović, Ilir Gllareva, Nexhat Kapidani, Slađana Kavarić Mandić, Nenad Koprivica, Edin Liđan, Jelena Mijušković, Milica Muhadinović, Dražana Radonjić, Aleksandra Rakočević, Janja Raonić, Teodora Stanković, Ana Velimirović and Miroslav Vukićević.
Plaques UMNE have been awarded to Helena Blagojević, Tijana Drobnjak, Mia Kružić, Vukašin Stojanović and Luka Velašević.
