University of Montenegro and University of Belgrade: Achieving more through partnership

The relationships between the University of Montenegro and the University of Belgrade are deeply rooted, marked by strong mutual partnership and readiness to further deepen this connection. There is a clear intention to develop and strengthen this cooperation at all levels. This was assessed at a meeting between the Rector of the University of Montenegro, Prof. Dr. Vladimir Božović, and the Rector of the University of Belgrade, Prof. Dr. Vladan Đokić.

Rector Božović emphasized that he is always warmly welcomed at the University of Belgrade. "We have fruitful and diverse cooperation. Rector Đokić and I discussed current challenges and new possibilities for collaboration on multiple fronts. Primarily, the focus is on scientific research activities. The goal is to connect our academic communities, interweave scientific research potentials, and we have new concrete solutions that can enhance this significant segment of life at both universities. A considerable number of high school students in Montenegro aspire to enroll at the University of Belgrade, but we are satisfied that lately, an increasing number are deciding on the University of Montenegro. Personally, I think both universities are excellent, and I wish us as many students as possible," assessed the Rector of the University of Montenegro after the meeting in Belgrade.

He pointed out that academic ties in the region are better than political ones: "Not only do we not have any problems with universities in the region, but we have exceptionally good cooperation with colleagues from Croatia, Bosnia and Herzegovina, Slovenia, Montenegro, and North Macedonia. We have not a single point of contention, on the contrary - we have numerous joint actions, and we hope that this can contribute to better political relations among our countries."

After the meeting, the Rector of the University of Belgrade, Prof. Dr. Vladan Đokić, concluded: "We are brotherly universities and long-standing partners, both bilaterally and in many international associations, such as the Southeast European University Forum, where we act in the region. We are members of several associations of European and world universities, where again we work together in an effort to have the academic community recognized as a bearer of social change in as many countries as possible. We have exceptionally good cooperation, and today we discussed topics that will make it even better in the future."
