The Rector of the University of Montenegro, Prof. Dr. Vladimir Božović, officially opened the renovated hall of the technical faculties today in Podgorica, emphasizing the importance of this multimillion-euro investment for the university and the entire academic community. The renovation, valued at over one million euros (€1,043,752), involved carefully planned architectural interventions aimed at modernizing the space while preserving its historical and aesthetic character.

"The hall of the technical faculties is not just an architectural structure; it is a symbol of university tradition and development. The adaptation of this space, respecting its historical significance, involved both technical and aesthetic aspects, which have now been elevated to a higher level. This investment aims to provide our students and professors with a unique and stimulating environment for learning and research. In this way, we are investing in the enhancement of the quality of higher education, creating conditions that will serve future generations," emphasized Rector Božović.

The technical faculties building, constructed in 1975 according to the design of Milan and Pavle Popović, is one of the key references in Montenegrin architectural heritage. For this reason, the renovation project required a careful approach to maintain the original character and structure of the building while improving the functional environment to meet the needs of modern education.

Prof. Dr. Veljko Radulović from the Faculty of Architecture, one of the authors of the renovation, reflected on the architectural aspects of the project: "We found inspiration in the original design of the building, which we enhanced with contemporary architectural solutions. By introducing a new envelope, we created a hall that, while retaining its original character, now offers a unified and functionally improved environment. By connecting with the central atrium and introducing natural light, this space has gained a special aesthetic quality, creating an atmosphere befitting a university institution."

The renovation of the hall included a series of precise interventions – from leveling the floors and connecting them to the central atrium, to design accents and the introduction of greenery. This project fits into the broader context of the University of Montenegros efforts to improve teaching and research infrastructure. A space has been created that not only meets modern educational standards but also further affirms the value and significance of academic heritage.

The team from the Faculty of Architecture at UCG that worked on this project, in addition to Professor Radulović, includes: Prof. Dr. Svetlana Perović, Prof. Dr. Veljko Radulović, Assistant Prof. Dr. Ema Alihodžić Jašarović, Dr. Sanja Paunović Žarić, and MSc Nemanja Milićević.

The investment in the renovation of this hall is justified by the creation of a modern, functional, and inspiring environment for students and staff, confirming the University of Montenegros commitment to improving educational conditions for future generations.
