Strengthening cooperation between the University of Montenegro and the Hungarian Embassy in Montenegro

The Rector of the University of Montenegro, Prof. Dr. Vladimir Božović, met with the Ambassador of Hungary to Montenegro, H.E. József Négyesi, to discuss deepening cooperation between the University of Montenegro and Hungarian higher education and other institutions. The meeting was also attended by the Vice-Rector for Internationalization, Prof. Dr. Sanja Peković, who presented the existing forms of collaboration, and the First Counselor of the Embassy, Péter Kapronczay.

Cooperation with Hungarian partners is already being implemented through numerous international projects, including the Interreg Danube Region, Horizon Europe, and Erasmus+ programs. These projects cover a wide range of areas, from improving the IT sector and scientific research technology transfer to environmental protection and enhancing higher education.

Rector Božović emphasized that the University of Montenegro is committed to continually improving its academic and research potential through international cooperation.

"We are open to new projects that will contribute to the exchange of knowledge and innovation, as we believe that internationalization is essential for the development of higher education. This type of cooperation benefits not only our educational programs but also society as a whole," stated Rector Božović.

Ambassador Négyesi also expressed the Hungarian Embassys support for these initiatives: "The Hungarian Embassy is dedicated to deepening relations with the University of Montenegro. Connecting our universities and institutions enables the exchange of knowledge and experiences that will benefit both countries."

The meeting highlighted that, in addition to intensive project collaboration, student and staff mobility is being realized through the Erasmus+ program, with active agreements with the following universities: Eötvös Loránd University, Eszterházy Károly University, University of Pécs, and the Hungarian University of Fine Arts.

Both sides expressed their readiness to continue and expand cooperation through new projects and initiatives aimed at strengthening academic and scientific exchange between the University of Montenegro and Hungarian higher education institutions
