Great Importance of Four Erasmus + Structural Projects at the University of Montenegro

Current structural Erasmus + projects implemented at the University of Montenegro are of special importance because they affect the higher education system as a whole, concluded today's cluster meeting where the results achieved within four structural Erasmus + projects of UMNE were presented.

Vice Rector for Internationalization Sanja Pekovic, PhD, welcomed the idea to gather representatives of structural projects at today's meeting, given the importance they have, and referred to the topics of projects - reform of doctoral studies, internationalization, university autonomy and dual education.

"All these topics coincide with strategic directions of development of the University of Montenegro, outlined in the General Strategy of the University of Montenegro 2019-2024, as well as the Strategy for Internationalization of our University for the period 2020-2025. We are sure that all these projects will contribute to the ultimate and increase of international visibility and recognition of the University of Montenegro ", Peković pointed out.

The coordinator of the National Erasmus + Office, Vanja Drljevic, pointed out the importance of structural projects of UCG that include the entire higher education system, and not just faculty units individually, which is why the important role of the competent ministry in these projects is the Ministry of Education and Culture, Science and Sports.

"The Erasmus + program is a significant part of modernizing education in various aspects. In order to submit an application for a structural project, i.e. to be technically acceptable, it must have a competent ministry as someone who is an active partner, precisely because education policy makers must be present and proactive in such projects, "she added.

Leaders and team members of four Erasmus + projects "Strengthening the capacity for the implementation of dual education in Montenegrin higher education - DUALMON" (Zdenka Dragašević, PhD), "Strengthening the Autonomy of Universities and Increasing Accountability and Transparency of Western Balkan Universities - STAND" (Veselin Mićanović, PhD), “Strengthening Internationalization at Montenegrin Universities through Effective Strategic Planning - IESP” (Vladan Perazić) and “Reform of Doctoral Studies in Montenegro and Albania, an Example of Good Practice - MARDS” (Radovan Stojanović, PhD), presented carried out activities and results, and through the discussion new ideas were pointed out with the integration of experiences in different fields.

The meeting was also attended by the Director of the Directorate for Tertiary Education in the Ministry of Education, Science, Culture and Sports, Neda Ojdanić.
