Biography - Zoran Veljovic

Prof. dr Zoran Veljović was born in Priboj 04.12.1968, where he completed his elementary and high school with honors.
After completing his military service in 1988, he enrolled in the Faculty of Electrical Engineering in Titograd, where he graduated on the 26.09.1992 with the topic "Complex Systems diversity for mobile radio channel" with a grade of 10 (ten). The average score during the study was 9.58. During his studies, was awarded several times, as follows:
- The award "19 decembar" by the Municipal Assembly Titograd, on 19.12.1991, as the best student of the Faculty of Electrical Engineering in the academic year 1990/91;
- The award by the Faculty of Electrical Engineering in Titograd, on 31.01.1992, on the occasion of the 30 years of electrical engineering studies in Montenegro;
- The award by the University of Montenegro, as the best final year student of the Faculty of Electrical Engineering in Podgorica;
- Plaque of the University of Montenegro, as the best student of the University of Montenegro in his generation.
He enrolled postgraduate studies on the 04.11.1992 at the Faculty of Electrical Engineering in Belgrade, which ended on 21.09.1995 by presenting his master's thesis entitled "Trellis code modulation in mobile radio systems". His average grade at the postgraduate studies was 10 (ten).
The PhD thesis "New techniques in a multiple access mobile radio systems, next generation" Prof. Veljović finished on 29.09.2005. at the Faculty of Electrical Engineering in Podgorica.
From 01.10.1992 Zoran Veljović worked as teaching associate in the Department of Computer and Telecommunications at the Faculty of Electrical Engineering in Podgorica. Since 11.04.1996 he was appointed as teaching assistant at the Department of Telecommunications.
During his studies Zoran Veljovi was hired as an assistant in the performance of laboratory exercises on subjects: Electrical Circuit Theory, Theoretical Fundamentals of Electromagnetics, and Fundamentals of Telecommunications. From 01.10.1992 he worked as an associate at the Department of computers and telecommunications, by performing computational and laboratory exercises in the course Fundamentals of Telecommunications. In addition, he has computational and laboratory practice in the Digital Signal Processing, the exercise from the Fundamentals of Computer Science II, the exercise from the Electronics on Ships at the Faculty of Maritime. After he was promoted to the teaching assistants, he performed the computational and laboratory exercises in the following courses: Fundamental of Telecommunications I, Fundamental of Telecommunications II, and Mobile Radiocommunications. In the period from May 1997 until July 2000 he lectured at the course of GMDSS (Global Maritime Distress and Safety System) for seafarers at the Faculty of Maritime in Kotor.
Zoran Veljović was appointed as the Assistant Professor at the University of Montenegro on the 31.03.2006 by the Decision of the Rector of the University of Montenegro, he has been elected to serve as the Vice-Dean for education for the term 2007-2010., and then for the mandate period 2010-2013.
He was promoted to the Associate Professor by the Decision of the Senate of the University of Montenegro from 29.11.2012. In October 2018 he was elected as a full professor. He has been the Dean of the Faculty of Electrical Engineering since 01.08.2013. to 02.08.2019.
Zoran Veljović is author or co-author of eight papers in renowned scientific journals, 59 papers at international conferences, eight papers in national and regional journals, and 46 papers at regional conferences. He was head of the three scientific projects. He is author or co-author of 16 research projects, three of which are within the EU FP7 program. He was a member of the team for the implementation of the pilot project of the first Center for Excellence in Montenegro. He is the founder of the Laboratory for the measurement of electromagnetic emissions, the first accredited laboratory at the Faculty of Electrical Engineering. He was one of the designers of mobile radio networks of Telekom Montenegro and team leader for its implementation.
Zoran Veljović is married and the father of two sons.
