Biography - Bakrač Vladimir

Vladimir Bakrač was born in Nikšić, where he finished elementary school. He graduated from high school in Bar, and he graduated from the Faculty of Philosophy - Department of Sociology in Nikšić. He enrolled in postgraduate studies at the Faculty of Philosophy - University of Montenegro in 2005, where he received his masters degree in 2008 on the topic of Religion and Nation - Theoretical Analysis of Similarities and Differences. In 2009, he enrolled in doctoral studies at the Faculty of Philosophy - University of Belgrade, at the Department of Sociology. He defended his doctoral dissertation entitled "The Religiosity of Youth in Montenegro" at the Faculty of Philosophy, University of Belgrade in October 2012. Since 2013, he has been engaged in teaching at the Faculty of Philosophy in Nikšić (UCG), as a professor in the courses Sociology of Religion I and Sociology of Religion II, and at the Faculty of Political Sciences, Political Sociology and General Sociology. At the University of Montenegro, he was elected to the position of assistant professor in the field of Sociology and Politics and Religion in 2017. He was elected to the position of associate professor in March 2022 at the Faculty of Political Sciences and the Faculty of Philosophy.

He is the author of several scientific works, articles and presentations mainly in the field of religion, and he is a participant in several national and international scientific conferences, he is a member of the advisory body in international organizations for religious and cultural issues ALF. He is a member of the Board at the Center for Interdisciplinary and Multidisciplinary Studies at the University of Montenegro. Member of the review team in journals of international importance. He is a member of the editorial board of the journal Occasional Papers on Religion in Eastern Europe (OPREE). He participated in a large number of conferences of domestic and international importance. Erasmus + mobility of academic staff in Italy and Turkey. Head of the Sociology Study Program since 2020. The monograph Religion and young people - religiosity of young people in Montenegro was published in the edition of Narodna knjiga and Miba BOOK. His special interests are in the field of sociology of religion, politics and religion, the relationship between religion and the nation, interreligious dialogue, political sociology, etc.
