UMNE Steering Committee: 2,010 places for master’s, 1,225 for specialist, and 130 places for doctoral studies at the University of Montenegro

For enrolment in master’s studies at the University of Montenegro in the 2025/26 academic year, 2,010 places are planned, 1,225 in specialist studies, and 130 in doctoral studies – it was decided today at the session of the Steering Committee, chaired by Milivoje Radović, PhD.

The calls for enrolment in master’s and specialist studies at the University of Montenegro will be announced on Monday, September 22, and published on the website of the University of Montenegro and in daily newspapers issued in Montenegro, while the call for doctoral studies will be announced subsequently.

Applications for both calls are to be submitted on September 23, 2025, to the student service of the organizational unit, during the working hours of that service.

For enrolment in master’s programs, an entrance exam is mandatory, which will be held on September 24 and 25, 2025. The method of examination, structure and content of the test, as well as the schedule, will be published on the notice boards and websites of the organizational units. Master’s studies are financed by the Budget of Montenegro and are free for students, except for two programs in English, which are self-financed – the interdisciplinary academic program Marine Environment Protection and Management and the applied multidisciplinary program Information Security.

The conditions, criteria, and procedure for enrolment in master’s and specialist studies will be specified in detail in the calls, in accordance with the Law on Higher Education, the Statute of the University of Montenegro, the Rulebook on Enrolment in the First Year of Master’s Studies, and the Rules of Study in Postgraduate Studies, available on the website of the University of Montenegro.

Enrolment of candidates will be completed by September 26, 2025. At the session, other issues within the scope of the regular operations of the University were also considered.
