Biography - Moric Ilija

He finished primary and secondary school in Herceg Novi. As an excellent student, he was awarded with „Luča” diploma.

He finished his undergraduate studies at Faculty of Tourism and Hotel Management – University of Montenegro in Kotor with cumulative GPA 9.72, as first in his generation in shorter period than official period of 4-years lasting undergraduate studies (according to decision no. 01-2192 issued on 25.10.2005.). In 20 years long history of the Faculty, this was and still is the only case.

Ilija Moric finished his master studies in 2007 with cumulative GPA 10.00, as first candidate that defended master theses at Faculty of Tourism and Hotel Management in Kotor. That fact made him the first “master of tourism” that gained that qualification by studying in Montenegro.

He defended his PhD theses “Marketing aspect of rural tourism development: Case of Montenegro” on 6th of November in 2015 at Faculty of Economics – University of Montenegro in Podgorica. It represents the first and only theses in Montenegro and region that analyses rural tourism development from marketing point of view. In period before and after defending PhD these, he has published over 30 scientific and professional articles. He has also taken part in several conferences, as well as scientific projects (e.g. IPA; Heric).

During 2018, he published and promoted his first monography “Rural Tourism in Montenegro: Marketing Aspect of Development” issued by Innovative-entrepreneurial centre TEHNOPOLIS. Apart from scientific research, he has made certain results as entrepreneur in sector of organic production and development of tourism products.

He has been working at Faculty of Tourism and Hotel Management since September 2006 as teaching and research assistant. His main areas of teaching and research are: Marketing in Tourism, Consumer Behaviour in Tourism, Marketing Communication in Tourism, Global Marketing and Statistics in Tourism.

Since December 2018, he has been executing the function of administrator (manager) of study programme “Tourism and Hotel Management”.

He is also a member of Centre of young scientist and artists of Montenegrin Academy of Science and Arts (CANU - Crnogorska akademija nauka i umjetnosti).

He has tour guide licence (English and German). He is also member of Commission for tour guide licence exam in organisation of Montenegrin Centre for Exams (Ispitni centar Crne Gore).

He is a board member of Olive growers Association “Boka”.
