Conditions and Priorities of the Jean Monnet Call for 2026

Conditions and Priorities of the Jean Monnet Call for 2026

We would like to inform you that the European Commission has published the Jean Monnet Call for 2026 under the Erasmus+ Programme. The call is open until 3 February 2026, 5:00 p.m. (Brussels time). While maintaining the core structure of activities from previous calls, this call introduces certain updates in terms of priorities and application conditions, to which we would like to draw your attention:

Jean Monnet activities continue to include Modules, Chairs, Centres of Excellence, and Networks, with their primary objective remaining the promotion and dissemination of knowledge about the European Union and its integration processes among students and teaching staff, as well as within the broader academic and societal community. However, the 2026 call places particular emphasis on topics that address contemporary challenges facing the European Union—namely digitalisation and the development of digital skills, the green transition and sustainability, inclusion and civic competences, as well as the strengthening of democratic values and civic engagement. Projects submitted under this call must clearly demonstrate how they contribute to these priorities, as they will be key criteria in the evaluation process.

Multiple applications from a single institution may be submitted for different Modules and Chairs, allowing for diversity and the expansion of activities within the same institution; however, an individual may manage only one such action. With regard to Centres of Excellence, each institution may have only one supported project at any given time, ensuring focus and quality of implementation. For Networks and other Jean Monnet initiatives, limitations primarily relate to partnership structures and the minimum number of institutions in the consortium, rather than to the total number of applications submitted by a single institution.

For additional information, we recommend consulting the Erasmus+ Programme Guide and the section on Jean Monnet Actions in higher education, or contacting the Project Office of the University of Montenegro or the National Erasmus+ Office.
