As an exchange student you can spend one or two semesters at the University of Montenegro.You can come for an an exchange through one of the following programmes:
Before applying you should inform yourself of the academic offer at the respective university unit of the University of Montenegro. All lectures at the UoM are held in Montenegrin language. Certain number of courses are provided in English language. List is available here
For being an exchange student at the University of Montenegro you should first be nominated by your home university. Inform yourself at your home university on the procedure you should follow in order to be considered for nomination.
After you are nominated by your home university, you will be contacted by the respective coordinator of the University of Montenegro and you will be required to submit an application form.

Grading system of the University of Montenegro
According to the Statute of the University of Montenegro, and the Higher Education Law, the success of students at exams and other forms of knowledge assessment is done in accordance with ECTS scale of grades: A, B, C, D, E and F.
The grade F has the meaning fail. The pass grades are: A, B, C, D and E and according to the ECTS they have the following meanings:
-Grade A (excellent) is equivalent to grade 10 (more or equal to 90 points)
-Grade B (very good) ) is equivalent to grade 9 (more or equal to 80 points and less than 90 points)
-Grade C (good) is equivalent to grade 8 (more or equal to 70 points and less than 80 points)
-Grade D (satisfactory) is equivalent to grade 7 (more or equal to 70 points and less than 70
-Grade E (sufficient) is equivalent to grade 6 (more or equal to 50 points and less than 60 points)
We have created the so-called Buddy Network - a group of experienced, helpful students who will be more than happy to assist you (on request) with transfer to the dormitory (within our town), check-in, your first visit at the Dean's office, and other minor current affairs. Most of them have experience with travelling & studying with Erasmus.

In order to obtain a room in the new dormitory you should send an e-mail with the dates of your arrival and departure to the e-mail address firstname.lastname@example.org
The price for a bed in a double room is 22.90 eur per month.

Visa and Residence permit
You can obtain a visa for Montenegro in your home country or in the closest neighbouring country where there is an Embassy of Montenegro.
In the event you do not obtain a visa in your home country, you can enter Montenegro with your valid passport, after which, within 24 hours, you must register your stay in Tourist organisation in the city of stay in Montenegro. When you are registered in Tourist organization, you can stay in Montengro 90 days. BUT, within these 90 days, you need to obtain a residence permit. In order to obtain the permit you need to submit a request for obtaining temporary stay permit in the Ministry of Interior Affairs.
Among other, an obligatory document you must submit on this occasion is the Criminal record that you have not been prosecuted or convicted for any offences in your home country.
The confirmation has to be original and in Montenegrin language (translated by a court sworn interpreter), so if you cannot translate it into Montenegrin in your home country, you should translate it into English and then, upon your arrival to Montenegro we can help you with finding a court interpreter who will translate it into Montenegrin. The remaining documents needed for filing a request for the permit will be provided by our office.
After the request is submitted (you will be required to pay a fee of around 50 euros in order to be issued the permit) the Ministry makes a decision on granting the permission for temporaray stay within the envisaged time period.

Course of Montenegrin language
IRO Office University of Montenegro organises course of Montenegrin language for international students. Course is held twice a week in Rectorate and it is free of charge.At the end, students obtain Certificate of Attendance.
